4 Editing Excercises from the journal

Exercise 3 - pg 203, gifts to yourself

A list of details.

1. River valley of Neerg. That has very tall grass.
2. The castle in the kingdom, high on a hill.
3.Crocodiles in the moat at the castle.
4. The prince's horse Wodahs
5. The prince's sword Epoh
6. Town called Eniam, in the middle of nowhere

I notice that several of these details could lead my story in a different direction. Perhaps the Prince must first search the tall grasses, and huts of his town for the battle standard, before he moves on. The entire story could become a long quest, which leads him to the town of Eniam, and then he is pointed to the location of the knight. Of course this expands the length of the story, but the plot deviations necessitate this change in order to reach a conclusion. The sword Epoh has potential to fulfill a significant role in another challenge facing the prince. The horse Wodahs could be given a personality so the prince has a real companion on this quest. It would also expand the character base of the story.
